In
order to obtain the best looking photographs, it is
vitally important that you work closely with your
photographer and be prepared to co-operate fully
as there will be many distractions on the day. You may
have just had your very first 'domestic' or the fine
weather at the start of your wedding may have turned
into a major thunder storm, but remember... keep smiling
!
Location,
location, location. You may have the good fortune to be
the most photogenic couple on the planet but if your
wedding venue is a small car park, your photographer
will have very little to work with. Try and choose a
picturesque location or at least a venue with some
photographic potential.
If you have an
idea for a particular look or 'pose', it can sometimes
be a great help and time saver if you have practiced the
pose before your wedding day. Try to imagine what the
camera is seeing and adjust your posture in harmony with
your partner. And above all, relax.
Time
is one of the most important factors to your
photographer. Please allow at
least 20 minuets before the start of your wedding to
take photographs of the Groom & Best man, and at least 1
hour after your wedding to take the main photographs
before the journey to your reception. It is also
advisable not to book photographs at
home on the morning just before your wedding. You
will have too much to do and your photographer will have
to make a dash for the wedding venue to arrive before
you! (unless Premier has been booked when two
phographers are used)
Ushers can be of great
assistance when taking photographs of your family and
guests (I recommend at least two) by helping to
make sure they 'respond' to the photographers
instructions, especially when he calls for the
people needed for the various group shots.
It is usually a good idea
to mention this to them before the wedding day. Its
amazing how some guests forget they are part of your
wedding too and are not just there for the free booze
and nosh!
Make
a list of all the photographs you want and name the
people you want included in each group. If required,
position each person in the order you would like to see
them in your photograph. Post or
e-mail
the list to your photographer and also keep a list
for yourself and any helpers on the day.
